One of the famous trampoline parks in the state of Illinois was Mega Trampoline. It used to be famous for its numerous types of trampolines and many variations of bounce houses and obstacle courses.
From the beginning, it drew crowds with ease. It not only attracted the population around Crystal Lake but also the people from the whole state of Illinois.
But just before the park closed, folks had been seen coming out of the trampoline park disappointed. Some of them even threw allegations against them that they sold tickets but didn’t provide the service they were promised.
Customer Complaints
There were lots of angry reviews posted around the time Mega Trampoline closed. One of the customers angrily stated that the park had closed 80% of its attractions but all of the arcades took a fee from them.
Another person mentioned that while they were suffering from a poor experience with the attractions, nobody was there to listen to their complaints. The staff was just loitering around and speaking amongst themselves.
You can’t blame the customers. It’s a poor choice of the park management committee to choose inexperienced people to lead a large establishment.
The Real Issue: Trampoline Park Maintenance
From the beginning of the park’s opening, it has suffered from a lack of supervision. The owners didn’t directly manage the park and used young operatives to run the park instead. Their inexperience in running such a big establishment and customer management basically ended the park’s future.
They temporarily closed the park at some point in 2015 for renovation purposes. It did open after that but only to die out very soon.
If you check their website now, you’ll see the notice about the park’s closure due to renovation is still up. It really is sad that such a promising park with lots of venture opportunities and entertainment options for the locals failed so soon.
Good News
The good news is that all that business opportunity didn’t go to waste. After the park failed, many new ventures were opened around Crystal Lake. And some of them flourished and took over the customer base. One such example would be the Jump! Zone and another would be the Urban Air Trampoline and Adventure Park.
Final Words
The park had some pretty fresh ideas for the attractions. So, why did Mega Trampoline close? Maybe the park had trouble selling the ideas to the crowd.
It could be a reason why the project didn’t fly. But the real issue was customer satisfaction and management. Fortunately, there are alternatives now that you can learn from.
